Ed Wells is on board to oversee the company’s expansion efforts in Europe, the GCC, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

GLOBAL–Sesame Workshop has tapped Ed Wells to serve as the company’s head of international media and education.

In his new position, Wells will manage Sesame Workshop’s international offices and expansion efforts throughout Europe, the GCC, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. He will also oversee production, distribution, themed entertainment, education and licensing for the company across these regions.

Most recently, Wells was the executive vice president and head of international for WWE. During his tenure, he was responsible for the global strategic development of WWE’s brand and business. Prior, he worked for Viacom International Media Networks as vice president and general manager of Nickelodeon.

“Ed has a long and distinguished track record of building brands and operations throughout the world,” says Steve Youngwood, chief operating officer, Sesame Workshop. “He also comes to us with great passion for our mission to help kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger and kinder. As we work to reach even more children and families internationally, we’re thrilled to have Ed on board to lead the charge.”
