Location-based experiences have become a worldwide phenomenon. LBEs were the theme for Licensing Expo in Vegas last May. And we know that LBEs are a great way for brands to connect with consumers. Announced this week, a new Wizarding World LBE, Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration, is coming to select cities around the globe for the first time. 

While it’s been more than a decade since the final Harry Potter film premiered, the brand shows no signs of waning popularity. Whether it’s Hogmeade coolers, Casetify phone cases or even cookware, the boy wizard continues to engage fans. 

Location-based experiences is an area where Harry Potter is continually expanding. Last winter, in the woodland of Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire, U.K., Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience, a nighttime woodland trail experience featured lighted trails and creatures from Harry Potter. In February, License Global shared the opening of Harry Potter: The Exhibition at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute. 

In July, License Global announced Harry Potter: Magic at Play would make its world debut at Chicago's Water Tower Place on Nov. 11. This week, Harry Potter: Magic at Play revealed a special rendering of its Quidditch skills training games, providing the first look at the hands-on interactive experience.

Co-produced by Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Fever, a global entertainment discovery platform, Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration is a party where guests will be able to participate in moments inspired by J.K. Rowling's stories and scenes from the Harry Potter film series. The experience features several Wizarding World elements and celebrates the Yule Ball moment. Although not mandatory, guests are encouraged to dress up in their best formal Wizarding World attire. 

The ball will allow guests to interact with hosts and offer various photo opportunities. Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy food and beverages, as well as a market featuring branded merchandise. 

The first Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration will be held at the Paraiso Maravilla in Houston. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Thursday, Sept. 8, more info can be found at Harrypotteryuleballcelebration.com. Quantities will be limited.
