Viacom has appointed Maria Iregui as brand manager and senior vice president of programming and production for MTV Latin America.

Viacom International Media Networks–The Americas has appointed Maria Iregui as brand manager and senior vice president of programming and production for MTV Latin America.

She succeeds former MTV Latin America and Tr3s (VIMN’s U.S. Hispanic network) brand manager and SVP of programming and production, Fernando Gaston, who has decided to leave the company for personal reasons. 

In her new role, Iregui will oversee the content and creative for the youth brand in the region. 

Iregui brings more than 20 years of strategic management experience, including 16 years in television, to MTV Latin America. Prior to joining VIMN, she served as vice president of programming for Telemundo Networks and before that she held various senior management roles at Caracol Television including vice president of content distribution and vice president of marketing.

“Iregui is a highly knowledgeable, consumer-focused executive with the market expertise and versatile experience in content, marketing and digital needed to drive sustainable and long-term growth for MTV,” says Sofia Ioannou, managing director, VIMN–The Americas, to whom Iregui will report.
