The Roald Dahl Story Company has selected Pete Selby to serve as its retail publishing director.

In his new role, Selby will work with essential partners to develop and implement publishing strategies across the U.K. and manage the company’s growth in markets including the U.S., China and Australia.

“Pete joins at an incredibly exciting time for The Roald Dahl Story Company," says Luke Kelly, managing director, The Roald Dahl Story Company and Roald Dahl’s grandson. "Our publishing has never been stronger, and we have ambitious plans in entertainment across film, television and stage yet to come. We are very excited to bring in Pete to further develop our publishing business in the U.K. and internationally and develop our presence at retail.”

Most recently, Selby served as the head of books and music at Sainsbury’s. His experience spans retail, creative thinking and market innovation.
