Technicolor has announced plans for two new kids series that it will present the international marketplace this October at MIPCOM.

The production company has partnered with ABC Television Australia and Australian producer A Stark Production to develop the award-winning graphic novel series from Gestalt Comics, The Deep, into a CGI animated children’s series.

“The Deep” will follow the adventures of a family of underwater explorers who seek to unravel the mysteries of the deep sea. The series will be targeted to kids ages

Technicolor, ABC Television and A Stark Production will develop stories for CGI 8 to 12.

A second project from the animation studio, developed in partnership with Mercury Filmworks, is the 2D preschool series “Chamelia,” based on the book series from Ethan Long.

“Chamelia” stars 6-year-old chameleon Chamelia who, contrary to the nature of chameleons, would rather stand out than blend in.
