SEGA has announced that its new Sonic the Hedgehog animated series “Sonic Boom” will premiere on Cartoon Network in the U.S. Nov. 8.

The action-comedy series, and the first CG-animated TV series for the franchise, is a cornerstone of the new multi-platform Sonic Boom initiative. The new branch of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe will also include upcoming video games for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS as well as a robust merchandise line anchored by master toy partner Tomy.

The brand-new series is co-produced by SEGA of America and OuiDo! Productions. The series' U.S. premiere will be followed by debuts in France on Canal J on Nov. 19 and on Gulli in spring 2015. The Middle East will launch spring 2015 with other territories to follow in fall 2015.

Lagardère Entertainment Rights is handling distribution for TV and video and Lagardère Active TV Licensing and New Business is managing the of the series in France.
