Young adult novels will bring to life storylines from the TV series as well as original plots.

NORTH AMERICA—Nelvana, a division of Corus Entertainment, is partnering with Macmillan Children’s Publishing for a series of novels based on its animated series “Mysticons.”

The action-fantasy series recently debuted in North America and is currently the No. 1 series on Corus’s YTV network in Canada.

The book series will be developed by Macmillan’s Macmillan Publishers and Imprint division, and will launch in June 2018 with both novelizations of existing episodes and new storylines.

The first two titles in the series will be Quest for the Codex and The Fifth Mysticon.

“Partnering with Macmillan Publishers provides and opportunity to bring the heroic fantasy world of ‘Mysticons’ to another medium, and offer new and original, captivating storylines to young readers,” says Pam Westman, head, Nelvana Enterprises. “Children are the future change makers of the world, and we’re proud to provide boys and girls with positive content and inspiring role models to whom they can truly relate.”
