Partnership will kick off with material from Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment.

Mattel and Otoy have joined forces to bring original episodic content to the View-Master VR Viewer.

Launching in collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros.’ digital studio Blue Ribbon Content, the new content will feature virtual reality experiences based on episodes of Warner Bros. Animation’s “Batman: The Animated Series.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Mattel and Otoy on this exciting collaboration with Warner Bros. Animation that will give Batman fans around the world a chance to watch the stories and adventures of their favorite superhero in this all-new format,” says Kelly Gilmore, senior vice president, global toys, WBCP.

A preview of the “Batman: The Animated Series” VR content was showcased at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 at the Mattel booth, allowing fans to step into the series for the first time.

The VR experience pack for the View-Master will be available this fall.

“Otoy is the perfect partner to create new VR content for View-Master,” says Mark Morse, director, advanced concepts, Mattel. “They’re light years ahead of the curve when it comes to their rendering capabilities. The Batman experience we previewed at San Diego Comic-Con was just a glimpse into the incredible things to come from this collaboration.”

Otoy is a “holographic content” platform that brings light field rendering and network streaming to VR and augmented reality experiences. The company recently participated in the 2016 Disney Accelerator program
