Endemol North America has teamed with Vavi Sport & Social to launch the “WipeoutRun” event, a game show-inspired obstacle course, in the U.S. and Canada.

The tour will hit more than 20 cities beginning in March 2015.

“WipeoutRun” will pit contestants against 12 “Wipeout”-style obstacles such as Wrecking Balls, Sweeper Arms and Big Balls, spread out over a 5K course. Participants and spectators will also be treated to a festive atmosphere complete with vendor booths, food and refreshments.

“Part of ‘Wipeout’s’ unique success is its ability to make people want to be a part of the experience,” says Kimilyn Whitaker, global head of franchise management, Endemol. “The new ‘WipeoutRun’ will give fans a firsthand experience to enjoy the hilarious crashes and mud splashes. We have seen great success with Wipeout-branded licensees such as our top-selling games by Activision Publishing and think this experience will be another great success.” 

Nine initial cities have been announced to host “WipeoutRun,” the first of which is Dallas, Texas, with additional locations to be named in coming weeks. Registration is open now at WipeoutRun.com.
