The Toy Association board of directors has announced it has elected Aaron Muderick, founder, Crazy Aaron’s and inventor of Thinking Putty, as executive chair on the board. Muderick has served on the board since 2019 and most recently served as vice chair of the Toy Association since 2021.

“I am excited to use my background in the toy industry to serve our members,” says Muderick. “I look forward to leading this board to drive members’ success and encourage creativity while continuing to promote play and toy safety.”

Aaron recently retired from his role as president of his local municipal government which he held since 2016 after serving as vice president for six years. Over the years, Aaron has served in many roles successfully bringing government and business together. Along with his elected municipal position, Muderick also serves as a local volunteer firefighter and has served as pyrotechnics crew chief for the annual fireworks show.

“Aaron Muderick is an inspired choice to lead The Toy Association’s governance as he has proven to be a valued board member and tireless volunteer across several of our committees that make a positive impact on the toy industry,” says Steve Pasierb, president and chief executive officer, The Toy Association.  “As an inventor, entrepreneur and successful company leader, Aaron brings to the role a deep appreciation for the full spectrum of our diverse membership base and shares the Association’s commitment to aggressively protecting and promoting everyone across the broad toy and play community, member or not.”

Muderick is also treasurer of GEEO, a nonprofit organization that enables teachers to travel abroad and share their experiences with their students upon returning to the classroom. The organization’s goal is to promote a more outward-looking world view in American students. Last season more than 500 teachers traveled the world with GEEO during their summer break.

“Aaron has truly done it all, from advocating for the needs of the specialty toy retail sector to testifying before the U.S. Senate on the safety risks of illicit counterfeit toys being sold in online marketplaces,” says Pasierb. “In a time of unprecedented disruption in global supply chains and swiftly evolving consumer behavior, Aaron’s commitment to serving others and driving solutions is certain to be a great benefit.”
