In honor of back-to-school season, Warner Bros. Consumer Products has launched an educational program featuring Scooby-Doo.

The Zoinks Points for Education program works in tandem with the Scooby-Doo loyalty rewards program, Zoinks Points, to instill young students with the love of reading and award one U.S. school with educational funding.

The Zoinks Points program lets consumers collect, bank and redeem points from specially marked Scooby-Doo licensed merchandise and digital rewards.

From now through Dec. 31, members can enter a sweepstakes to win $5,000 for educational enrichment programs, supplies or equipment at the school of the winner's choice. Additionally, the first 1,000 people to enter the sweepstakes will receive a copy of the new Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy companion reader from Scholastic, based on the latest Scooby-Doo original movie of the same name, now available on DVD.

The sweepstakes will be promoted in the August/September issue of Scholastic Parent & Child magazine, which will feature fun-with-phonics and back-to-school learning tips from Scooby and the Gang.

"Warner Bros. Consumer Products is proud to partner Scooby-Doo and the Gang with this great promotion, coupling the love kids and parents across the country have for Scooby with the fun and enjoyment of reading," says Karen McTier, executive vice president, domestic licensing and worldwide marketing, WBCP.

Also in time for back-to-school, WBCP partners such as Scholastic, Thermos, LeapFrog, Bioworld, Buckle Down, Redan Publishing, Mead, Good2Grow, Betty Crocker fruit-flavored snacks have released a range of Scooby-Doo products at retailers across the U.S.
