Viz Media has signed two tasty new deals for Doraemon that will see the Japanese character featured on new snack products in North and Latin America.

Viz Media is the North and Latin American master merchandise licensee for the anime property.

Inspired by the titular character’s favorite food, Dorayaki (a pancake-style snack that is filled with sweet red bean paste), JFC International has launched branded Doraemon Dorayaki that feature an imprinted design of the character and collectible stickers.

Additionally cream puff chain Beard Papa’s Café has unveiled a Doraemon cream puff for NYC Japan Week, taking place now in New York City's Grand Central Station. The confectioner will showcase and offer samples of the custom cream puff inspired by Dorayaki, known as Yummy Buns on the show, and offer a special Doraemon-branded take-out box to customers who buy six or more.

Select Beard Papa’s Café store locations in the U.S. will also carry this flavor through April 17.

“Doraemon is a unique and colorful global ambassador for Japanese pop culture, and we are excited to welcome aboard JFC International and Beard Papa’s as licensed partners for the brand and to have the character prominently featured in a variety of delicious new snacks and confections from these companies,” says Daisuke Aoki, vice president, licensing, Viz Media.
