Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to tout travel to New York City.

NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing organization, has named Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the official NYC Family Ambassadors.

The Turtles will be featured in a yearlong campaign that will highlight New York City as a family-friendly destination. The campaign will feature key things about New York each Turtle would enjoy such as the New York Hall of Science and, of course, pizza.

“We’re excited to enlist the help of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, four dynamic and adventurous New Yorkers, to welcome family travelers to NYC,” says Fred Dixon, president and chief executive officer, NYC & Company. “Known by visitors from around the world, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the perfect guides to help families discover the vibrancy and excitement throughout the five boroughs.”

Families visiting the city this summer will be able to participate in season events including SummerStage Kids, Big Apple Barbecue Block Party, Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks, the U.S. Open Tennis Championships and more.

The city welcomed approximately 17.5 million family visitors last year, a nearly 2 percent projected increase from 2014, and that number is expected to grow even more this year to roughly 17.7 million family visitors.

“As native New Yorkers, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the perfect choice to encourage visitors from around the globe to find their own adventures in the city that never sleeps,” says Pam Kaufman, chief marketing officer and president, consumer products, Nickelodeon. “We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with NYC & Company, which leverages our beloved characters to showcase the best of what New York City has to offer for kids and families.”
