Mario, Bowser, and Yoshi inspire new bears and outfits at the make-your-own toy retailer.

NORTH AMERICA–Build-A-Bear Workshop has teamed up with Nintendo to unveil three new furry friends inspired by Mario and other characters from the “Super Mario” franchise.

The new collection features three full-sized bears based on Mario, Bowser and Yoshi, as well as a pre-stuffed plush Toad, wrist accessory set and a ‘Super Mario’ hoodie. Additional items include Luigi and Princess Peach costumes, and sound chips inspired by the game.

"‘Super Mario’ is a classic game franchise many of our guests know and love, and we've had a lot of fun bringing these characters into furry friend form," says Jennifer Kretchmar, chief product officer, Build-A-Bear Workshop. "Like Build-A-Bear, Nintendo's characters appeal to everyone, so we couldn't wait to team up for the first time and offer another way for Guests to enjoy the timeless brand."

The collection marks the first time “Super Mario” products will be available at the retailer, and the Build-A-Bear Workshop Nintendo collection is now available online at BuildABear.com and BuildABear.co.uk.

"Bringing beloved characters like Mario, Yoshi and Bowser to Build-A-Bear aligns our shared goal of engaging kids and families in fun and new ways," says Tom Prata, senior vice president, strategic initiatives, Nintendo of America. "Now, even the youngest member of the family can interact with Nintendo by creating their powered-up furry friend."
