Netflix and American Greetings Properties are collaborating on an original kids' series starring the Care Bears.

Titled “Care Bears and Cousins,” the show will premiere around the world on Netflix in early 2016.

The Care Bears first appeared in their own television specials in 1983 and 1984 and made the leap to the big screen in 1985-87 with The Care Bears Movie trilogy. They also had their own television series from 1985 to 1988, which is currently available to watch on Netflix.

“There is a massive shift in the way kids consume content, and we have strategically positioned the Care Bears to be at the forefront of new media,” says Sean Gorman, president, AGP. “Creating a new home for Care Bears on Netflix will allow a new generation of fans to discover the beloved series around the world.”
