Vinicius and Tom, mascots of the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, are set to star in a new TV series on Cartoon Network in Brazil.

The series is being developed by Cartoon Network and the Rio 2016 Organising Committee and will be called “Vinicius e Tom–Divertidos por Natureza” (Vinicius and Tom–Fun by Nature).

The series will air on pay TV in Brazil and will also be available via the digital platforms of both organizations when it premieres Aug. 5, exactly one year before 2016 Olympics opening ceremony.

The animated show will recount the adventures of the characters, which are inspired by Brazil's flora and fauna, in 32 episodes.

"Cartoons are part of the daily lives of all children, and we believe the series will enchant not only little kids but adults as well," says Sylmara Multini, director. licensing and retail, Rio 2016. "It will be a showcase for the mascots, the ambassadors of the Rio 2016 Games, and we hope it will help create fond memories of them for years to come."
