Rilakkuma and Mamegoma, Japanese characters from San-X, will celebrate their U.S. arrival this weekend in Los Angeles with a pop-up shop, party and more.

Jamie Rivadeneira of JapanLA will open a San-X pop-up shop, featuring characters and merchandise from Japan. In addition, Umami Burger will offer a two-week promotion at all four of its Los Angeles locations, including limited-edition collectibles and serveware. A party and other Japanese-inspired events are produced by Bubble Punch.

San-X characters are currently licensed in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy, Brazil, the Philippines, Singapore and the U.S. Partners include Kit Kat, Toyota, Tower Records, Fuji-TV and Sega Toys.
