Marathon Media, a Zodiak Kids company, has announced new South Korean TV and licensing deals for its “Redakai: Conquer the Kairu” series.

Kids cable channel JEI will begin broadcasting the series this month and Joon International has been appointed as consumer products agent. Spin Master’s local distributor, Toyskool, will distribute Redakai toys.

The Redakai trading card game will be launched over the summer, while the rest of the toy line will hit retail in the fall. Joon International has already signed licensing deals with Zeus for role play toys, BnB for puzzles, Elite Fancy Base for stationery and Unicorn for stickers and activity books. The first licensed products will appear in retail outlets early this summer.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new and exciting boys animation property in Korea,” says Joon S. Choi, chief executive officer, Joon International. “We believe Korean boys will love the animation and will soon want the innovative TCG cards and other products. The local licensees we have secured for Redakai are industry leaders renowned for high quality product development and will certainly contribute effectively toward creating and increasing brand awareness, together with the great support of JEI TV.”
