Nickelodeon opened Brand Licensing Europe 2011 in spectacular style at Park Lane's Grosvenor House Hotel Monday night, featuring appearances from the cast of "House of Anubis" and a performance by Victoria Justice, star of "Victorious."

Bob Bakish, president and chief executive officer of Viacom International Media Networks, outlined VIMN's global strategy as a premiere children's content provider. Nickelodeon is the most profitable division of the company, with 50 channels viewed by 350 million households in 25 different languages.

"Nickelodeon is the leading television kids' brand in the world," says Bakish. "Television is a long-term investment with the power to bring audiences back, time and again."

In addition, he noted that the newly-formed Paramount Animation will focus on the Nickelodeon library.

Cyma Zarghami, president of the Nickelodeon/MTV Kids and Family Group, presented Nickelodeon's three main areas of programming, pre-school, animation, and live action, including the upcoming preschool property Beatrix Potter's "Peter Rabbit" and the animated "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reboot," both due next year.
