Scholastic Media's Goosebumps brand leaps into the gaming genre with its first-ever interactive console game—Goosebumps HorrorLand.

The video game for the Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation2 features a fright-themed amusement park filled with more than 30 rides and attractions.

To coincide with the game launch, Goosebumps will host a marketing and promotional campaign, "Shriek Week" on Oct. 31 featuring live HorrorLand video game demonstrations and Goosebumps activities at the Times Square Toys "R" Us in New York City. There will also be a Halloween party opened to the public in Times Square with a Goosebumps photo booth and a pumpkin-carving competition to break the Guinness World Record for the most pumpkins carved in an hour.

Recently, Cartoon Network has been airing the "Goosebumps" TV series and plans to air a "Nightmare-athon" of "Goosebumps" episodes on Halloween from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

This is the Goosebumps brand's first foray into video games. The title already has a merchandising program that includes TV, books, audiobooks, DVDs, costumes and, more recently, three new DVD titles from Twentieth Century Fox Home Video, costumes from Disguise and a new Web site.
