Egmont U.K. has published a limited edition of Thomas the Tank Engine to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the first publication of the book by Rev. W. Awdry.

Rare artwork from the author’s estate including his sketches of Thomas and Gordon, a tracing of Thomas, the wooden model of Thomas that Awdry made for his son, Christopher, and four rare photographs are included, giving fans an insight into the creation of the famous railway series.

Meanwhile on June 16, Egmont will publish a one-off souvenir special edition of the Roy of the Rovers comic to coincide with the football World Cup in South Africa. 
The issue contains five classic strips from the 70s, 80s and 90s giving old and new football fans a chance to relive football’s golden age and follow Roy Race through three of his most memorable matches.
