Philadelphia's Franklin Institute opened "CSI: The Experience," an immersive exhibit into the world of cutting-edge forensic science Oct. 2, with a special guest appearance by "CSI: NY" actress Sela Ward and members of the Philadelphia Police Forensic Science Bureau.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, CBS Consumer Products and the National Science Foundation designed and developed "CSI: The Experience" for the Science Museum Exhibit Collaborative.

The exhibit runs through Jan. 2, and Franklin Institute science interpreters have created accompanying hands-on programs and live shows that run daily.

A “Franklin Bureau of Investigation” Crime Lab offers exhibit attendees the opportunity to uncover even more about fingerprints, footprints, and splatter patterns; and a live chemistry show features dynamic onstage demonstrations including physical and chemical changes, acid-base reactions and combustion.
