Carrefour has entered into a deal to acquire Ipek, a Turkish supermarket chain. The $29.8 million deal will allow the French retailer to take control of a few dozen supermarkets in the Istanbul area.
"This transaction illustrates Carrefour's strategy of reinforcing its presence in growth countries where the group has leadership positions," the retailer said in a statement.
