Discovery Communications has teamed up with Wendy’s to feature an Animal Planet toy premium and augmented reality game in Wendy’s kid’s meals beginning Monday. The deal was brokered by The Joester Loria Group, Animal Planet’s North American licensing agent.

Designed to bring the adventurous essence of the brand to life, each kid’s meal will include an Animal Planet premium featuring one of five animals with an AR overlay–a dog, cat, parakeet, chameleon or fish.

The augmented reality experience features the same pets received in the kid’s meal and allows kids to play games from a desktop, as well as a mobile device through iTunes and Google Play. Each game is differentiated among the five pets and incorporates the animal’s natural play patterns.

In addition to the Animal Planet premiums, participating Wendy’s will distribute coupons for a special offer on Animal Planet products, available at Toys ‘R’ Us.
