has announced its new Marine capsule collection, featuring maritime-inspired menswear that draws inspiration from the adventure and fantasy comic series, “Corto Maltese.”
Created by illustrator, Hugo Pratt in 1967,
is a cult character and star of graphic novels and paintings. He’s a traveler, part Mediterranean sailor, part Anglo-Saxon adventurer, an anti-hero who prefers freedom to wealth, and whose adventures take the reader to some of the most fascinating places in the world.
“Corto Maltese was chosen for this capsule because he reflects the alluring and adventurous spirit of Guess,” says Paul Marciano, chief creative officer, Guess. “He is elegant, intriguing and cultured. I have always enjoyed Pratt’s beautiful watercolors, which are true works of art; it has been a pleasure to bring together Corto Maltese with Guess.”

, the agency that oversees Corto Maltese’s Italian licensing program.

The collection will be available in selected Guess stores and on Guess.eu from the beginning of February.
