Sony Pictures Consumer Products has given THQ the worldwide rights to develop video games based on Sony Pictures Television's game shows "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune."

THQ is tapped to publish interactive games based on the properties for the Wii, Nintendo DS and DSi. The deal also includes options for additional platforms. The games are slated for release later this year.

"'Jeopardy!' and 'Wheel of Fortune' are extraordinarily popular across the globe and it was important for us to find a partner with an international vision," says Mark Caplan, vice president of licensing at Sony Pictures Consumer Products. "THQ's focus and proven success within the family market made them the most logical team to bring these renowned properties to new platforms, and we look forward to working with them to create family-friendly interactive experiences."
