Star Trek Beams up Book Deals

CBS Consumer Products has signed a raft of new deals with leading publishing houses to expand their Star Trek selections.

Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, will continue its successful partnership with CCP for Star Trek novels in print and electronic formats. Under the renewal agreement, Pocket Books will produce original novels across all Star Trek series. Over the past 33 years, Simon & Schuster has published close to 1,000 Star Trek titles.

“We’re always looking for creative partners to give Star Trek fans stunning new products,” says Liz Kalodner, executive vice president and general manager, CBS Consumer Products. “These books offer all-new material for fans to enjoy the franchise and are going to make ideal gifts this holiday season.”

In addition to the Pocket Books offerings, Harry N. Abrams, becker&mayer! and Cider Mill Press will introduce a broad selection of new titles, ranging from a new entry in the best-selling 365 series to a collection of the best quotes from The Next Generation.

These publishing deals follow the announcement of becker&mayer! and 47North’s Star Trek Federation: The First 150 Years coming this November. Read more here. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation 365, available this September from Harry N. Abrams Books, provides a fresh overview of the entire series, featuring rarely seen and classic photography and illustrations.

becker&mayer!’s Star Trek: Build the U.S.S. Enterprise will also hit stores this September and includes everything readers need to make a foot-long paper model of the famous NCC-1701. The book will be available exclusively at Barnes & Noble

Containing notable quotes from all seven seasons of the Next Generation television series, Star Trek: The Next Generation Classic Quotes from Cider Mill Press, will arrive just in time to commemorate the show’s 25th anniversary.

CCP will be showcasing Star Trek and other properties in Booth 6834 at Licensing Expo, June 12-14 in Las Vegas, Nev.
