, Legends Recordings has teamed up with nonprofit organization, Beats Rhymes & Relief, to create a hip-hop community fund, with the goal of raising $250 million.
Under the management of Beats, Rhymes & Relief, the For The Culture Fund will support 50 U.S.-based organizations working in five areas: youth engagement, violence prevention, criminal justice reform, food and housing security and health and wellness services.
With support from dozens of hip-hop celebrities including Ice-T, Mysonne, Melle Mel, Scorpio and many more, Legends Recordings and Beats Rhymes & Relief will utilize the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop to help ensure a safer, brighter, more equitable future for the culture and the communities that birthed it.
“The 50th year of Hip-Hop will arguably be one of the most significant events in music history.” says Ice-T. “So let's make the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop a time to engage. Look to the future, support and effect change!”
