Osiris Acquires 400+ Films From Westlake

Westlake Entertainment recently sold its 400+ film library and key assets to independent film distributor Osiris Entertainment.

In addition to the acquisition, Osiris plans to offer the film library to its wholly owned and operated movie download rental and purchase Web site, WebMovieNow.com.

"This acquisition is key to the strategic growth of Osiris, which already had a strong library of films for DVD, digital media and broadcast," says Evan Crooke, founder and chief executive officer of Osiris. "Our goal is to acquire the best films and make the best movies we can, while empowering film makers to participate in a more sensible form of distribution than traditional methods. By acquiring the bulk of the Westlake Entertainment library, we are now better-positioned to attract new producers and titles."

Osiris Entertainment is based in Woodland Hills, Calif.
