Midwest retailer Meijer has added TV host and author Katie Brown to its team as the company's home solutions advisor.

Brown, the host of PBS' "Katie Brown Workshop" will develop new product lines for Meijer, as well as solutions projects for the home. She previously hosted Lifetime's "Next Door with Katie Brown" and most recently released her fifth book Katie Brown Celebrates, featuring crafts, recipes and party ideas. Brown also has a syndicated column, "Domestic Dilemmas," which runs in the New York Times.

"This is a long-term partnership we're undertaking with Katie and right now we're looking at a host of areas in which to best utilize her talents," says Dave Clark, vice president of brand and product development at Meijer. "We're excited about the possibilities that Katie represents—from branded product lines to online programs. She brings such a wealth of opportunities for us and our customers."

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer has 185 supercenters in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.
