Princess Sam Consumer Products Taps Licensing Agents for ‘Tara Duncan’
bRAND-WARD Services will cover the U.K.; Consumer Product Connection to handle Spain and Portugal.
Princess Sam Consumer Products has appointed two more licensing agents for the children’s animated adventure-comedy-fantasy, “Tara Duncan,” in key territories.
bRAND-WARD Services will manage the U.K., while Consumer Products Connection will take responsibility for Spain and Portugal.
“I am very proud and happy that bRAND-WARD has been given the opportunity to work with Laurent Taieb and the team at Princess Sam Consumer Products,” says Jean-Philippe Randisi, company director, bRAND-WARD Services. “The enduring appeal of the Tara Duncan books is now going to take all screens and U.K. audiences by storm.”
bRAND-WARD Services is a global kids’ IP consultancy and U.K. licensing agency business based in London. The company works with and for kids’ content producers, toy companies, digital studios, publishers and more. Randisi, who has held senior roles at major companies like Nickelodeon, ITV, Zodiak Kids and Saban/Fox, founded the company.
Consumer Product Connection delivers licensing and full master agent services and acts as a local agent in Spain and Portugal. Its offerings include promotions, local shows and advertising, retail support and development and implementation of retail-related cross-media campaigns. Consumer Product Connection executives are highly experienced in building licensing programs, with a background in managing properties such as DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Sony and Paramount.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Princess Sam Consumer Products and thrilled at having been chosen as its licensing agent for Iberia,” says Julien Barbier, chief executive officer, Consumer Product Connection. “It’s clear that both the brand and the show have enormous potential, and we are convinced it will have a great broadcasting and consumer product success in Spain and Portugal.”
First published in 2003, tens of millions of Tara Duncan books have been sold worldwide. The animated series launched in 2022; total sales of the first series now exceed 80 countries. A second season, with 52 new episodes, is currently in production, with plans to produce special episodes. A digital ecosystem is also being developed to expand Tara’s universe.
To further promote broadcast growth, the Princess Sam Entertainment Group recently appointed major international distribution company, Superights, as the global distributor for Tara Duncan. Superights will represent worldwide rights distribution, except in Mainland China.
The campaign has already awarded a license in the French market to toy company, tonies, and appointed Maurizio Distefano Licensing (MDL) as licensing agent for Italy. MDL has now been joined by bRAND-WARD and Consumer Product Connection. More appointments are expected soon.
“As viewer figures and the number of broadcast agreements continue to rise, we are moving quickly to appoint best-in-class licensing agents for Tara Duncan to meet growing consumer demand,” says Laurent Taieb, licensing head, Princess Sam Entertainment Group. “We are therefore delighted to announce the appointments of bRAND-WARD and Consumer Product Connection – two highly respected names in their territories.”
