BBC Worldwide is marking a year of momentous events with new merchandise for  FIFA World Cup 2014, Doctor Who, Sherlock and more.

BBC Worldwide is marking a year of momentous events with new merchandise for top brands including the FIFA World Cup 2014, Doctor Who, Sherlock and Something Special.

Doctor Who

BBC Worldwide will be launching several new lines this year as well as a new look-and-feel to its packaging. U.K. merchandising is led by Character Group’s range of action figures and role-play toys. New this fall/winter will be a Twelfth Doctor action figure, play sets and new monsters. Underground Toys also release new plush toys and new characters will be added to the range of vinyl figures from Titan.

Sherlock

BBC Worldwide has secured a range of new licensing partnerships for the crime drama “Sherlock” including posters from GB Posters, calendars from Danilo, Cluedo from Winning Moves, t-shirts from Dark Bunny Tees and gifting lines from Titan.

FIFA 2014 World Cup

Helping fans cheer on the England team in Brazil, BBC Worldwide brings a raft of 2014 World Cup product to market. Key licensee Homewin has an enormous range of FA merchandise including homewares, car accessories, puzzles, plush toys, key rings, wooden toys, stationary, babyware and nursery products, pet toys, gardenware and Christmas decorations. Debut Sports has created zip pulls and key rings featuring the England squad (available now), and Demon Records has released two albums to celebrate the start of the World Cup. Other World Cup product includes posters from Pyramid, headphones from Skull Candy, Onesies from Groovy, clothing from Poetic Gem and calendars from Danilo.

CBeebies

Following the appointment of Golden Bear Toys as the brand’s master toy earlier this year, a new range of CBeebies toys is set to launch this fall/winter. The first-ever CBeebies toy range consists of wooden puzzles, collectible plush and feature plush that plays a lullaby and displays glowing stars.

Something Special

Toy partner Golden Bear has already experienced great success with the Mr. Tumble Talking Plush. New toys for this year include a feature plush with music and the Mr. Tumble’s Musical play mat. New licensee HTI will create wheeled toys including scooters, skates and bikes; publishing partner Egmont will add to its existing range; KD Group is planning and electronic learning aid; Zak is creating melamine and acrylic homewares; Trademark is developing bags; BBC Worldwide’s DSP team is working on a range partywear and stationery.

Sarah & Duck

Sarah & Duck plush toys from Posh Paws made their debut at London Toy Fair earlier this year and will be available at retail this fall/winter. The toys will complement the Penguin Book range (released in March), a BBC DVD and a CBeebies magazine special from Immediate Media (May), and a 2015 planner from Carousel Calendars that will also launch in the fall/winter season. 

Top Gear

New product launches for fall/winter will include men’s and children’s apparel, car wash kits, remote-control cars, male grooming kits and toiletries.
