Performance Brands has signed child safety brand LuvGear,a warning system designed to help parents and caregivers protect their children from dangerous temperature levels and sun damage. The technology has been picked up by Marks & Spencer for infant apparel.
Ink-filled discs that are sewn into children's clothing change color as a warning of risk. The LuvGear series consists of SunAlert, HotAlert, TempAlert and ColdAlert, each acting as visible warning of elevated body temperature, exposure to high levels of UV rays, dangerously cold temperatures and liquids at temperatures that could burn.
"LuvGear is a fantastic concept, and anything that is designed to protect children will always do well," says David Ball, Performance Brands' joint managing director. "Marks & Spencer has already come on board, and there has been interest from many other quarters. I don't think it will be long before LuvGear is a major presence in the U.K. and Ireland."
