Julie Washington has been appointed as vice president of consumer products, licensing and growth initiatives for food service chain Jamba Juice.

In her new role, Washington will help to expand the Jamba Juice brand into consumer products. A program is already in place with partners such as Think Wow Toys (toy blender), Oregon Ice Cream (frozen novelty products), Headline Entertainment (apparel) and The Inventure Group (frozen smoothie kits).

Washington has more than 15 years in the brand management industry, having most recently served as vice president of marketing at Luxottica Retail, where she was responsible for the LensCrafters brand. She also worked at Procter & Gamble, Gillette and Nestle-Purina.

"Growth of CPG and licensing are among Jamba's key priorities as we evolve from a made-to-order smoothie company to an active, healthy lifestyle brand," says James D. White, president and chief executive officer at Jamba Juice. "The breadth of Julie's experience will make a significant contribution in our efforts to create new licensing partnerships while strengthening and growing our existing relationships."

In related Jamba Juice news, Susan Shields was promoted to senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
