The National Hockey League licensee Knights Apparel has extended its mass market rights into Canada. The manufacturer already has rights in the U.S. and Europe.

Knights Apparel's NHL-branded men's and women's active wear, outerwear and lifestyle apparel will now be available at retailers in Canada, including Walmart, Zellers, Canadian Tire and Rexall. The licensee's NHL rights include team and Stanley Cup marks, beginning with the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

"Knights Apparel's standing as a global leader in direct-to-store distribution and socially responsible manufacturing sets them apart from others in the industry," says James Haskins, NHL's vice president of consumer products licensing. "Their global outsourcing strategy has been a big catalyst in our retail success in the U.S. and Europe."

Knights Apparel has been an NHL licensee since 1991 and also holds the licenses to North American college teams and the NBA.
