Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII coming to SpongeBob’s Bikini Bottom on Nickelodeon for the first alternate telecast of Super Bowl LVIII, the NFL is coming together with Gamefam, in collaboration with Paramount, for the debut of the official Super Bowl quest on Roblox.
The program will feature quests and activities, including:
Super NFL Tycoon
TMNT Battle Tycoon
“As Roblox continues to scale, we’re seeing a tremendous opportunity to amplify the biggest IRL moments for Gen Z and Alpha,” says Joe Ferencz, chief executive officer, founder, Gamefam. “Building on our successful work with the NFL, we’re excited to super-charge our program by bringing one of the world’s biggest cultural touchpoints to a new audience on Roblox, with the goal of immersing the next generation of NFL fans in the craze of Super Bowl.”
The centerpiece of the Super Bowl LVIII Roblox experience will live in Gamefam’s newly launched SpongeBob Simulator and will be highlighted by a first-of-its-kind Super Bowl cross-game quest across several Gamefam-created game experiences. Players will interact with Nickelodeon characters, including the cast of “SpongeBob SquarePants” as they immerse themselves in the Super Bowl LVIII week experience, participating in challenges and earning in-game rewards.
The experience launches Friday, Feb. 2 and will be live through Monday, Feb. 19. The program comes on the heels of previous successful Roblox collaborations between Gamefam, the NFL and Paramount, including, Nickelodeon’s NFL Nickmas Game and Super Bowl LVII: Saweetie Super Bowl Experience.
“The NFL continues to meet fans where they are and metaverse gaming has proven to be a successful avenue for the league in achieving that,” says Ed Kiang, vice president, video gaming, the NFL. “Coming off the success of last year’s Saweetie Super Bowl Concert Presented by Intuit on Roblox we were excited to team up with Gamefam again to produce a cross-Roblox quest, including Super NFL Tycoon to promote Super Bowl LVIII and our first alt-cast of the game on Nickelodeon. Bringing together the NFL with SpongeBob and TMNT to Roblox’s over 70 million daily users further demonstrates how the NFL is working to reach new audiences while engaging existing fans with entertaining and innovative activations tied to the NFL’s largest tentpole event.”
