Jazwares has announced a collaboration with some of the world’s biggest “Roblox” games and developers to launch DevSeries, which aims to help games expand into consumer products with a collection of the next generation of game-based toys and consumer products.

License Global: What is DevSeries?

Judd Karofsky: We know how massive the world of “Roblox” is, with around 250 million active monthly users on the platform. For the past six years, Jazwares has seamlessly translated the “Roblox” gaming experience into the world of toys like nobody else, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in sales.

This year we’re leveling up, collaborating directly with the world’s biggest developers to launch DevSeries, a collection of the next generation of game-based toys and consumer products that, until now, have only existed behind your screen.

To jumpstart our efforts and develop our whole program, we recently partnered with BIP, a global IP licensing marketplace that bridges the gap between our licensors and licensees, allowing for greater connectivity and quality dealmaking that our DevSeries consumer products program demands, helping to streamline our entire process.

What opportunities does the licensing program provide developers and licensees?

There are many opportunities for consumer product licensees because we are treating DevSeries as an umbrella of gaming licenses. We give independent game developers full licensing support with a 360 cross-category program, working one-on-one with Jazwares. Not only are we creating toys for these top gaming licenses that resonate with their fans, but also making it easier than ever for developers to get their IP into numerous categories such as apparel, accessories and more – allowing developers to focus on what they do best.

What is the scope and scale of the DevSeries licensing program?

This truly is a unique program, and the potential is big. We have already signed dozens of inbound licensing deals with the top game developers. We continue to add even more titles, creating an even bigger opportunity for the outbound licensing program. The titles in our roster alone have a combined 93 billion total gameplays and a collective 100 million active monthly users. With this huge audience, we believe the scope and scale will translate to dozens of key partnerships and thousands of products globally.
