Children’s entertainment company expands its global presence with new Australia-based branch.

Children’s entertainment company and licensee Spin Master has created a new Australian subsidiary–Spin Master Australia.

The Australian subsidiary will begin trading next year and will take over distribution for the majority of the company’s brands in the region. Spin Master has been distributing product in the region for more than 15 years.

The company has appointed Jacqui Webster to the role of general manager for the new venture. Prior to joining the company, she held senior roles with Hasbro, Mattel, Paramount Pictures and several international consumer packaged goods companies.

“Australia presents a strong growth opportunity for Spin Master, and we’re excited to be expanding our network of regional business offices,” says Ben Gadbois, president and chief operating officer, Spin Master. “One of our core growth strategies is to continue to grow our international sales. Our new Australian subsidiary is an important step toward this goal.”

The new subsidiary follows a recent spat of acquisition for Spin Master including the purchase of Toca Boca and Sago Mini this month, Etch A Sketch in February and the Italian games company Editrice Giochi in January.

According to NPD data, Spin Master was the fourth largest toy, games and entertainment company in North America last year. The company’s brands include Zoomer, Bunchems, Air Hogs, Meccano and Nickelodeon’s “Paw Patrol.”
