In anticipation of the 30th anniversary of the Transformers brand in 2014, Hasbro is letting fans create the new Transformers character.

From now through May 5, fans will be able to vote daily to determine different features of the new character, including whether it will be an Autobot or Decepticon, as well as its mode, color, personality and name.

The character that emerges from the Fan-Built-Bot poll will be made into an action figure that Hasbro will then feature as part of the Thrilling 30 line of toys released to celebrate the brand’s anniversary. The new character will also appear in the official Transformers comic books.

Hasbro will announce the results of the poll when it kicks off the Transformers Thrilling 30 anniversary celebrations this July.

"Since 1984, the Transformers brand has been bringing entertainment and excitement to kids and fans with our beloved characters like Bumblebee and Optimus Prime,” says Jay Duke, vice president, Transformers brand, Hasbro. "This is the perfect way to kick off our anniversary celebration and the Thrilling 30 line of special edition figures. It will be tremendous fun for everyone to keep track of the entire process from the designing of the character, leading up to its introduction as a toy and watching it become a part of the Transformers brand."
