It didn’t matter whether you called him “Baby Yoda,” the child or “Grogu,” two years ago, that was the “it” toy of the season. But the Star Wars franchise, like blue jeans, never goes out of style, and chances are you or someone you know needs some “Star Wars” gifts this holiday season. And, along with classic favorites, there’s a bunch of new arrivals on shelves as retailers and licensing partners continue to bank on the enduring popularity of the brand.

The “Star Wars” Celebration Europe 2023, which took place in London in April and was reported on by License Global, thrilled attendees and fans as Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy, announced three new live-action “Star Wars” films.

This fall, Lucasfilm announced “Gift the Galaxy,” a global consumer products, games and publishing program to celebrate new Star Wars products through Dec. 19. The program, which License Global covered in October, launched with the live unboxing on “Good Morning America” of a larger-than-life gift box in Times Square.

The newest installment in the Star Wars legacy is the original series, “Star Wars: Ahsoka,” which is streaming on Disney+. Set after the fall of the Empire, the series follows former Jedi, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. If someone on your list is an Ahsoka fan, there are plenty of options for gifting here, including:

  • “Ahsoka”-inspired armor and weapons, coming soon to the “Star Wars: The Old Republic” video game and a limited-time event taking place on the holotables: “Time To Begin Again” in “Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes”

Whether it’s C-3PO, R2-D2 or BB8, the lovable “Star Wars” androids remain popular as characters and collectibles. And while it might not inspire a “Jingle All the Way” buying frenzy, Hasbro’s “Star Wars” Droidables did make it to Walmart’s 2023 Top Toy List.

We talk a lot about the growing popularity of consumer products that appeal to kidults, and LEGO building sets are big favorites for the young and the young at heart. Star Wars has a long history with LEGOs – LEGO has been making “Star Wars” sets since 1999. This year at San Diego Comic-Con, the LEGO Group announced three additions to the LEGO “Star Wars” building set range. Two sets were connected to “Star Wars: Ahsoka” – Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle and New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter.

The brick-building set recreation of Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle features an opening LEGO minifigure cockpit, landing gear that’s retractable for flight mode, two stud shooters and two storage compartments for tools and weapons. The set also includes minifigures of Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Professor Huyang and Marrok.

The New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter building set features brick-building models of the starships from “Star Wars: Ahsoka,” four LEGO minifigures of popular characters and a New Republic astromech droid minifigure.

In addition to the “Star Wars: Ahsoka” sets, a brick-building set version of Chewbacca marks the 40th anniversary of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.” This highly detailed display model, comprising over 2,000 pieces, captures Chewbacca’s distinctive features and arms him with a giant bowcaster.

And for those who can’t get enough Grogu, it’s hard to resist the LEGO “Star Wars” The Child build-and-display model. It even includes the Child’s favorite toy – a gearshift knob (element included) – for it to hold just like it does in “Star Wars: The Mandalorian.”

If you want to deck out your family and not just the halls, Hanna Anderson has matching family pajamas with a “Star Wars” holiday print featuring C-3PO, R2-D2, Stormtroopers and other favorite characters. And if you don’t believe there’s something for every single Star Wars fan this holiday season, it’s only because you haven’t yet seen the Star Wars-styling Her Universe “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” Lightsabers Retro Dress. Regardless of the theme or the style, “Star Wars” gifts are hot commodities and often sell out, so start shopping now to avoid being left out in hyperspace.
