Family experience company CAMP and sportswear company Nike have teamed up to create a location-based experience in Los Angeles, Calif. Additionally, the LBE includes an exclusive drop of a Nike Kids CAMP Capsule Collection, featuring customizable graphic prints, available nationwide.

“As a champion for sport and athletes, Nike believes that all kids should have an opportunity to play,” says Karie Conner, vice president and general manager, Nike Kids North America. “It’s our goal to keep all kids moving – from their first step to sport. We know that kids who play are healthier and happier – and lead more successful lives. We’ve partnered with CAMP to expand sport for a new generation. Through play, our new experience will help to redefine sport to be even more fun and more inclusive.”

At the experience, currently open at the Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles, families can dribble, dunk and pass their way through multiple sports-themed play spaces. Since opening in 2018, this is CAMP’s first LBE to launch in Los Angeles. In celebration, Nike recruited four local sports friends – Angel City Football Club (NWSL), Los Angeles Angels (MLB), Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) and Los Angeles Rams (NFL) – to join the Nike Kids CAMP experience by providing Los Angeles-themed décor to the rooms.

This 4,000 square foot experience, created in collaboration with Nike, is hidden behind CAMP’s signature Magic Door, and includes:

  • 45 minutes of sports-themed games, guided by CAMP Coaches

  • A family locker room pep talk to pick an original team name (This writer and her fellow journalists chose “The Reporters”)

  • Rooms for families to play in based on soccer, football, baseball, gymnastics and basketball gameplay

  • A photo opportunity with the ESPN Dunk Cam

  • A final celebration of play in the Trophy Room where they can shop and customize their own Nike Kids CAMP gear, including the Nike Air Force 1, sweaters and more

“We’re turning sports upside down and shaking all the fun out,” says Kirk Larsen, chief creative officer, CAMP. “This celebration of play and sport is a setting for wild, exuberant joy. A place to show kids and grown-ups alike that staying active and getting sweaty can be tons of fun. In Nike, we've found a partner that shares our values of inclusivity and camaraderie – and we’re thrilled to bring this experience to life. Let the games be games!”

The Nike Kids CAMP Capsule Collection, which features the sport monsters and designs created specifically for this experience, is available for purchase today at camp.com/nike-kids-camp-shop and is available at CAMP stores nationwide. Pieces include Nike Air Force 1s made just for CAMP, Wilbert Stilts Monster sweatsuits, Connie Monster and Flowerful + Powerful T-shirts and more for the whole family. At CAMP’s Century City location, families can customize their gear with patches, letters, and monsters to personalize their look.

Nike Kids CAMP will be in LA for a limited time before moving to another CAMP store location.
