What do you hope to achieve at Licensing Expo?

Adam Litvack: For us, we’re just happy to attend again and see our partners in person. It’s been way too long, and I am glad that we’re able to this year.
How has Pin Club adapted to the last few years in the industry, especially with all the challenges we were presented with?

In the past couple of years COVID, it has been tough to navigate through in all aspects of our business, but what remained true was our strong fan base. Our customers and fans wanted more drops, more pin releases so we started doing our own “virtual events” hosted by us online. Before China supply chains were halted, we ordered and received a bunch of new items for our shop that we used for our events that carried us through. Surprisingly, retail during this time also remained strong and our sales-rep jokingly said, “We were selling just as fast as toilet paper and paper towels.”

We have learned a lot during these crazy times, and I believe we have come out stronger as a brand and continued delivering to our customers/fans.

What is the most important quality you look for in a licensing partner?

The most important quality in a licensing partner is communication and honesty. Also getting to know them on a friendlier level also makes our partnerships easier as we progress.

What’s next for Pin Club that you can talk about?

Besides adding more anime and entertainment IPs to our roster, we have officially created a “digital” extension of our brand to tackle the NFTs and metaverse landscape. We will let you know what we’re planning as things develop more. Stay tuned!

What advice would you give someone attending Licensing Expo for the first time?

Keep a very open mind! Also be aware of what everyone is showcasing at the show in terms of IPs and products. For example, if everyone is wanting to obtain the license of a “specific IP” maybe you should run over to their booth and make an appointment.

Make sure you are prepared to answer all the tough questions that may be asked about your business so that the licensing partner can see that you both can be a good fit.
