Kip & Sew, the new premium sub-brand of licensee Character World, is planning luxury bedding ranges featuring Disney and Marvel characters in the U.K.
The Kip & Sew sub-brand was initially introduced earlier this month to launch a new, luxury collection in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company–Disney Gold Label collection of high-end fashion and homewares.
Now the partners are planning a Black Label homewares range, which will incorporate sophisticated design and high-quality materials to create minimalist, iconic products.
Set to hit stores this fall/winter, the Disney Minnie Mouse Black Label line will consist of a single duvet set, a 3D cushion and a fleece blanket, while the Marvel Super Heroes range will initially include a single duvet set and a canvas bolster cushion. Both collections will be available later this year in the U.K. at premium retailers including Debenhams.
The Black Label collection will run alongside the already released Gold Label line, which features Mickey Mouse’s iconic silhouette on a pashmina, scarf, blanket and cushion, all made of cashmere or a luxury blend of lambs wool and angora.
“We’ve been working with Disney for almost a decade now and felt it was the right time to extend our relationship and create a range that is a little different and opens us up to a whole new audience," says Karen Creed-Stephenson, creative and product director, Kip & Sew. "We’ve utilised stylish design and superior materials to create products that will appeal to a wide audience, from children to teenagers to young adults. This is our first foray into the premium market, and it’s likely we’ll look at adding more popular characters and brands as Kip & Sew grows and develops.”
