Finsbury Launches Licensed Cake Ranges

Finsbury Food Group has announced it will launch a variety of cakes, cupcakes and bites from the likes of TGI’s, Disney and Thorntons.

Mario Kart Celebration Cake 

Finsbury Food Group has teamed up with Nintendo to bring a ‘Mario Kart’ character cake to Asda, Tesco and Nevilles shelves this spring. The character cake consists of a sponge with a layer of raspberry jam and a sweet filling, covered with soft icing and finished with edible Mario and Luigi decorations.

TGI Strawberry & Chocolate Milkshake Cupcakes 

Continuing to grow its partnership with restaurant chain, TGI Fridays, Finsbury is launching a new format for the brand – cupcakes. The top-filled cupcakes, inspired by TGI Fridays’ strawberry and chocolate milkshakes, are available in Tesco beginning April 17.  

The strawberry cake is a soft sponge topped with strawberry cream cheese-flavored frosting, edible crunchy decorations and strawberry sauce. The chocolate version is a chocolate sponge topped with chocolate frosting, fudge pieces and chocolate sauce.

“Peppa Pig” Celebration Cake  

The “Peppa Pig” cake will be available in Tesco from mid-April and Asda from mid-May. The cake features Peppa and her little brother, George, and consists of sponge sandwiched with raspberry jam and sweet filling, covered with soft icing and edible character decorations.

“Bluey” Celebration Cake 

The “Bluey” celebration cake is made from sponge with a layer of raspberry jam and sweet filling and covered with soft icing.

“The Little Mermaid” Celebration Cake 

Finsbury has partnered with Disney to bring “The Little Mermaid” to the shelves of Asda, Tesco and Morrisons in time for the release of Disney’s remake of “The Little Mermaid.” The immersive 3D character cake features Ariel surrounded by an undersea scene. Made from traditional sponge, the cake includes a layer of raspberry jam and sweet filling covered with colorful icing.

Harry Potter Celebration Cake 

In partnership with Warner, the shield-shaped Harry Potter Celebration Cake features the four houses that make up the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It contains a layer of chocolate filling sandwiched between two layers of chocolate cake and covered with soft icing and will be available in Asda and Tesco. 

Thorntons Salted Caramel Bites 

The Thorntons and Finsbury Food Group partnership continues in the form of Salted Caramel Bites, available at Tesco in April and Asda and Sainsburys in May.
