Fox Television Group and Twentieth Century Fox Film have appointed former DreamWorks Animation executive Jim Fielding to head its consumer products and innovation division.

As president, the industry veteran will oversee licensing, product development and new business opportunities in the consumer retail space across Fox Television Group, Twentieth Century Fox Film and FX Networks.

Fielding brings more than 25 years of experience to the role and most recently worked as global head of consumer products and retail for DreamWorks Animation. He also served as the chief executive officer of Claire’s Stores, where he oversaw the retail chain’s growth and international development worldwide. Prior to that, he was president of Disney Stores Worldwide.

Before his 11-year tenure at Disney, Fielding served as general merchandise manager for the co-ed division of Lands’ End. Fielding has also held key merchandising roles at companies including The Gap, The J. Peterman Company and Dayton-Hudson.

Additionally, Fielding will succeed Jeffrey Godsick, former president of Fox Consumer Products, who stepped down from his position in May 2016 to join Sony Pictures Motion Group as executive vice president of worldwide partnerships.

“Jim’s expertise and experience will be invaluable assets as we continue to look for new ways for our brands–both new and existing–to reach consumers on a global scale,” says Stacey Snider, chairman and chief executive officer, Twentieth Century Fox Film. “Jim’s a one-of-a-kind executive, who’s worked with many of the world’s largest and most successful franchises, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him leading this group as we strive to take advantage of this immense opportunity.”
