Toys “R” Us Inc. named Monika Merz CEO, Toys “R” Us Japan.

Janet Boye Jenkins joined Sesame Workshop as vice president of creative services. MHS Licensing named Lindsey Everson as an account executive.

Classic Media appointed Karyn Schneider vice president, licensing for its operations in North America.

Mel Beer, the new head of licensing at Granada Ventures, has restructured the licensing team. Julie Quirke has been promoted to senior brand and licensing manager for preschool; Van Uong has added promotions to his new-media responsibilities and becomes brand and licensing manager new media and promotions; Martin Binyon will be brand and licensing manager responsible for the Gerry Anderson portfolio, drama, comedy and entertainment; and Ed Abis, commercial sports manager, will report to Beer on all sports licensing activity. Binyon and Abis will be supported by Emily Briggs, who has been promoted to brand and licensing executive sports, drama, comedy, and entertainment. Nicole Withers is now responsible for retail in addition to her existing marketing role, and becomes retail and marketing manager. This area will be given a renewed focus in 2008.
