
The Japanese department store will celebrate the heritage and arrival of ‘Peppa Pig’ in the country with a pop-up store and event.

First, the Takashimaya department store in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district will host an exclusive themed pop-up store, entitled “Peppa Goes to London,” from March 28 to April 3. The pop-up event will reflect the property's British heritage and will feature décor and styling inspired by the

storybook. The event will also include more than 100 products from 23 licensing partners in categories spanning toys, publishing, novelty, homewares, stationery and more. Sega Toys, the brand’s master licensee in Japan, will also launch a raft of new products.
Additionally, Takashimaya will host a special “Peppa Pig” screening from March 28 to April 10 that will include fan-favorite episodes as well as an exclusive original episode that follows Peppa as she enjoys cherry blossoms, which wil serve as a nod to Japan’s cherry blossom season. There
“The response to ‘Peppa Pig’ in Japan has mirrored the brand’s success throughout Asia and we’re seeing the demand for merchandise build rapidly,” says Ami Dieckman, senior vice president, international licensing, family and brands, Entertainment One. “As the property’s British heritage is clearly striking a chord with fans in the market, it seems fitting to celebrate the ‘Peppa Pig’ consumer products launch with a London-themed retail event that will give families a unique opportunity to engage with the property, while also demonstrating the brand’s tremendous potential to licensees and retailers across the country.”
Following this retail event, “Peppa Pig” merchandise will launch nationwide at Toys ‘R’ Us stores in June.
