Crayola is kicking off a national campaign to celebrate and support the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team in their bid for a historic three-peat.
To celebrate this game, Crayola has partnered with FOX Sports and U.S. Soccer to launch the Art of Soccer, spanning both the 2022 men’s tournament and this summer’s women’s tournament.
Through the Art of Soccer, kids and families across the country are encouraged to get their game on, show their U.S. pride and cheer on the women’s team through participation in a variety of activities and events.
Last year, four artists were commissioned to design custom soccer balls inspired by the key values of U.S. Soccer – integrity, commitment, teamwork and respect. The “Teamwork” ball was selected to be reproduced and sold exclusively on Amazon. A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to U.S. Soccer’s efforts to grow the game at all levels.
“Crayola celebrates creativity – whether it’s colorful self-expression through art or innovative playmaking while on the pitch,” says Rich Wuerthele, president, chief executive officer, Crayola. “Our collaboration with U.S. Soccer and FOX Sports is a unique opportunity to help kids learn teamwork, problem solving, community and creativity through art and athletics and watch those characteristics in action as the U.S. Women’s National Team takes on the world.”
There are special events at Crayola Experience locations in Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas and Arizona, with appearances from players in the Girls Soccer Network and The Art of Learning through a soccer virtual event on July 25.
Throughout the world tournament, kids and families can cheer on the home team with the Art of Soccer activities at Crayola.com/Soccer, where there are free, downloadable coloring pages, activity sheets and crafts.
