New Orleans’ famed Café du Monde has entered a new bakery-inspired collaboration with running shoe manufacturer Saucony and French Quarter design boutique Sneaker Politics.

Dubbed the Shadow 5000, the tan and green sneakers are inspired by the colors of the Café du Monde logo and its popular beignets favored by Blain McGowin, a Baton Rouge-based designer.

The Shadow 5000 is the latest addition to a growing line of global releases inspired by niche consumer brands. Earlier this year, K-Swiss partnered with ice cream shop Coolhaus for a range of limited-edition footwear.
