Nintendo has tapped Brazilian licensing agency Redibra to develop a new range of branded merchandise in the region.
The new products will include apparel, footwear linens, back-to-school and party goods and will feature a number of Nintendo franchises such as “Super Mario” and “The Legend of Zelda.”
“The geek and gaming markets have been growing exponentially year after year in Brazil. Additionally, there is a demand for Nintendo’s properties in the Brazilian territory among fans of all ages,” says David Diesendruck, president, Redibra. “Through a strategic selection of partners, Redibra will direct its efforts to fans of all ages, including kids who enjoy Nintendo games today, to adults who grew up with and continue to demonstrate their love for the brand to this day.”
The new products are slated to hit the market this January.
